January 24, 2008
Harrah’s Entertainment announced today it is launching a weekly World Series of Poker radio show that will air on more than 200 Sports Byline Radio Network stations.
World Series of Poker Radio will be broadcast every Monday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (EST).
“World Series of Poker Radio is the latest addition to our broadcasting and new media portfolio and opens up a new way for us to connect with our fans and players,” said Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP commissioner.
“We’re now ‘on air’ every week with the biggest names in the game, news from the WSOP and insights from top poker analysts.”
The show will be hosted by Nick Geber, a regular commentator on World Series of Poker Live and a three-year host of Fox Sports World TV’s Fox Football Friday. With a broadcasting career at Fox Radio in Los Angeles and other radio stations on his resume, Geber is an avid poker player and regularly plays tournaments and cash games in the Los Angeles area.
“I’m very excited to bring poker’s ‘Major League’ to the airwaves,” Geber said. “Now sports radio and poker fans can follow and participate in the action of the World Series of Poker every Monday.”
The radio show can be heard at WorldSeriesofPoker.com as well as on American Forces Radio affiliates, SportsByline.com, Cable Radio Network and a variety of local radio affiliates in major markets nationwide.
