Wynn Classic returns this month

The Wynn Las Vegas Resort announced Friday that the Wynn Classic will return for another run in 2008, with events taking place Feb. 26 through March 19.

The inaugural Wynn Classic in 2007 saw close to 2,600 players take on the events, of whom the lucky ones collected more than $4.5 million in prize money.

“The success of the inaugural Wynn Classic has allowed us to dedicate more resources to the event,” said David Eglseder, Wynn Classic director. “We are expecting an even larger prize pool and more entrants in 2008.”

The schedule of events is as follows:

Last year, Zachary Hyman won the $10,000 buy-in main event and took home close to $750,000.

Players can take their shot at the big money as well by winning their way into the main event. Now through Feb. 21, Wynn Red Card holders are eligible for the Wynn Classic tournament Seat Giveaway.

Players will need to present their Red Card to the poker room staff and simply play in the poker room. One E-Ticket for each hour of recorded play will be awarded to the play for entry into a drawing for a seat in the main event.

There are 12 seats that will be given away to other events in the tournament series, plus one grand prize seat into the $10,000 main event.
